You would be well served to read the drivel first, crappy link.
Really? Wilson and Snell to the Mariners as a bad trade? Cook is looking at that trade wrong, Jeff Clement was not the heart of the trade, and he certainly wasn't the only return.
Ian Snell in likelihood will be DFA'd, Jack Wilson has lost his starting job and was speculated to be thinking about retirement. The Mariners gained nothing by making the trade.
We received Ronny Cedeno who has been more valuable to us than Jack Wilson has been to the Mariners. We also received:
Aaron Pribanic who has struggled in A+ this season with a 2-4 record and 5.65 ERA in 13 starts.
Brett Lorin was very good after the trade (3-1, 1.57 ERA in 7 starts)
Nathan Adcock on the other hand has been very good since coming over. This season posting a 6-2 record with a 2.85 ERA in 12 starts. He is also striking out better than a batter an inning, and will probably be promoted in the very near future.
If Ron Cook had his way we would have a hurt, possibly retiring Wilson at short, and we would be on the verge of DFA'ing Ian Snell. Awesome logic! What a way to keep your job!
Is there anyone here that would trade Jeff Clement, Ronny Cedeno, Aaron Pribanic, Brett Lorin and Nathan Adcock for Ian Snell, Jack Wilson and 3 million bucks?
