All-Time Series: First Meeting.
Last Week- The Colonials suffered their first loss of the season in a 3-2 OT loss at RIT. Nick Chiavetta scored in the first period off a rebound of a Furman South shot to give the Colonials a 1-0 lead. RIT took the lead with goals in the 1st and 2nd before Nathan Longpre tied the game on the Power Play in the 3rd. Brooks Ostergard took the loss, making 25 saves. The Colonials got back on the winnign track on Saturday with a 4-2 win over former CHA conference foe Niagara. Nick Chiavetta got his 2nd of the weekend in the first and Adam Brace netted one in the 2nd for a 2-0 Colonials lead. But Niagara tied the game early in the 3rd with 2 goals in the first 7 mins of the period. Chris Kushneriuk put the Colinials in the lead for good with a goal halfway through the 3rd and Brandon Blandina sealed the win with an ENG. Brooks Ostergard got his 5th win ov the season with 32 saves.
Holy Cross picked up their 3rd win of the season with a 4-3 OT win over non-conference opponent Northeastern. Gianni Baldassari scored the winner in OT and Thomas Tysowsky made 28 saves for his 3rd win of the season.
Game Notes- The Crusaders are 2 time AHA champs and NCAA tournament participants, including a 4-3 OT win over Minnesota in the first round in 2006. Senior Everett Sheen is the leading scorer for the Crusaders, with 8 points in 6 games. Thomas tysowsky has started 5 games, with a 3.54 GAA and .887 SvPct
Robert Morris recently received a verbal from Cody Cartier, a 5'9 forward from Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Cody currently plays for Canmore of the Alberta Junior Hockey League
