The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Ryan Craig, and Defenseman Brian Strait to Wilkes-Barre Scranton.
Prior to be recalled by the Penguins Craig was Captain of the WBS Penguins. He was brought up on February 10th along with Nick Johnson, Brett Sterling, and Joe Vitale. Craig did not log a point in his 6 games until this point, although he did have 22 PIM. He was a -3. Craig currently ranks sixth in goals, fourth in assists, and is tied for fourth in points amongst WBS Penguins.
Brian Strait was called up last night to replace the injured Paul Martin after the trade that sent Goligoski to the Stars left the Penguins short a defenseman. He made his NHL debut in the Penguins 1-0 loss against the Washington Capitals last night, in which he blocked one shot. Strait is fourth on his team in +/- with a 17.
This move was necessary to clear room for James Neal and Matt Niskanen on the roster.
