Twitter is abuzz with word that Chris Snyder will have back surgery tomorrow, possibly ending his season. Earlier today the Pirates called up Triple A Catcher Wyatt Toregas to fill in for him, leaving the depth behind the dish basically nil.
Toregas is basically a no stick catcher, and really feels like a bit of a placeholder while the Pirates explore other options and/or wait for Jaramillo.
