It’s very hard to expect a team that is 14-0-1 to just keep on winning, but that’s what the Penguins have to do. They control their own destiny, all they have to do is win out.
What worries me though is that they peaked too early. You see it all the time. The unstoppable juggernaut that just cools off. It’s so hard to believe any team could keep up this torrid pace. Still they don’t have to keep this pace.
Last time out the Pens lost to the Senators, their second loss in a row after defeating them in the first game.
So it is again, the final game of a series. The Penguins can knot this one up too.
Evgeni Malkin scored the only goal in the last outing. In fact he got the only point.
Brent Johnson was just putrid, giving up three goals on eight shots.
These have all been high scoring affairs. In fact each game has seen six or more goals total, while a team has reached five or more goals in every game thus far.
With the way the Penguins have been putting the puck in the net I think I like their chances.
