The Pirates have traded organizational player Quincy Latimore for perennial sixth starter type pitcher Jeanmar Gomez.
My feelings haven’t changed much since I wrote about him in a preview last season.
Jeanmar Gomez… Jeanmar Gomez…. Jeanmar Gomez….. What is there to say about Jeanmar Gomez? Honestly I don’t really know. He spends a lot of time in the minors and is on his third major league stint? He’s also pretty young.
Not much too see here. Latimore is an organizational depth type player. Gomez is basically rotation depth/ injury fill in guy. I hope.
More likely this is just Neal Huntington trying to make up for not sending Jason Bay to the Indians for Cliff Lee.
