And after I just got done writing a fantastic piece about Pirates logic they blow me away again. Take a second to read that post because I made it literally minutes before this signing was announced and it’s extremely important!
If you haven’t heard by now fire up Twitter because Jeff Karstens and the Pirates have apparently agreed to a one year deal.
I’m sure you all remember his non-tendering in late November but if not click here.
I still think they should sign Marcum though.
No word just yet on the dollar amount, or if they will make Karstens take a physical. I’m sure we’ll hear ALL about it over the next few hours/days.
It’s being reported the deal is worth $2.5 million. Karstens would have gotten aroudn $3.5 – $3.8 million in arbitration depending on estimates. So the Pirates are winning the all important money game.
