Be honest: When it was expected that the NCAA would probably grant Tim Frazier his Medical Hardship Redshirt, didn’t you have some doubt in your mind that the NCAA would try and screw Penn State? I know I did, and no, I’m not cry-babying about the sanctions anymore, I’m done with that. I’m just saying, the NCAA is a group of dick-faces in my opinion. *cough I hate you Mark Emmert cough*
At least it’s official now: Senior point guard Tim Frazier is now classified as a redshirt senior. Frazier led the Big Ten in assists in the 2011-2012 season, and was second in the conference in scoring and steals.
The “Basketball Gods” played a cruel joke on the Penn State Nittany Lions men’s basketball team last season when Frazier ruptured his achilies on November 18th against Akron in the Puerto Rico tournament. I was really looking forward to seeing Frazier and D.J. Newbill work together in Pat Chambers’ offense.
Penn State now has the three top returning scorers from the Big Ten returning, if you include Frazier’s numbers from the ’11-’12 season. Rejoice Penn State fans, it looks like there is finally a few reasons to be excited about Penn State men’s basketball. Tim Frazier. D.J. Newbill. Jermaine Marshall.
Let’s not forget the addition of Pitt transfer John Johnson, he’s apparently a kid that is going to be able to come off the bench and score in bunches, something the Nittany Lions lacked last year.
