Penn State added its seventh verbal commitment for the 2014 class today.
Daquan Worley, a cornerback from Coatesville, PA committed to Penn State this morning, with Bob Flounders of the Patriot News breaking the story.
Worley also held offers from Rutgers, Massachusetts, Georgia Tech and oh what do you know, Pittsburgh.
Even an “unprecedented scandal” and ridiculously large amounts of sanctions can’t keep Penn State from owning the state of Pennsylvania in recruiting.
Most major recruiting sites have Worley as a 3 star prospect at this point in the recruiting process. Adding Worley will help beef up a defensive secondary that is lacking depth.
I guess it really shouldn’t surprise me that kids choose Penn State over Pitt even though they won’t be able to play in bowl games for a few years, because Pitt’s bowl games usually aren’t that great anyway.
Would you rather go 7-5 at Pitt and barely sneak into a bowl game, or go 8-4 or 9-3 at Penn State and get a great education at a beautiful campus?
