Penn State basketball will be taking on Princeton at Rec Hall on Dec. 14. Rec Hall was home to Penn State basketball from 1929 to 1996.
Dave Joyner was accompanied at a press conference to announce this news today by head coach Patrick Chambers and former head coach Bruce Parkhill. The two main theories on what the press conference was going to be about seemed to be the Rec Hall possibility and a potential Chambers’ contract extension.
Personally, I would love to see Penn State basketball return to Rec Hall permanently. The Bryce Jordan Center is damn near impossible to fill, and it just doesn’t create a legitimate home court advantage because of the way it is set up. Rec Hall is MUCH smaller and easier to fill. Rec Hall can hold between 7,000 and 8,000 fans, but it seems like more than that because of how small it is; making it much louder.
Another reason to be optimistic about this basketball program. PAT CHAMBERS SHALL LEAD PSU TO THE PROMISED LAND!
