Well, the picture gave it away, but hopefully you are reading anyway, because I have a bonus nugget that I somehow didn’t see until tonight.
Penn State athletic director Dave Joyner announced that the Nittany Lions will play a home-and-home series with the Virginia Tech Hokies in 2022 and 2023. Penn State will travel to Blacksburg on September 17, 2022 and Virginia Tech will play in Happy Valley (or at least, what was formerly known as Happy Valley? I’m not sure, the whole world seems to think this wonderful valley is miserable now, but I’m not so sure it is, but whatever..) in 2023.
ALSO!! The mighty San Diego State Aztecs will join the Temple Owls and Buffalo (Bisons?) as non-conference opponents against Penn State in 2015. The Nittany Lions host the Aztecs on September 26, 2015. It will be the first ever meeting between the Aztecs and Nittany Lions, unless Penn State and San Diego State meet in a bowl game this season (Oh…wait a minute…).
I wish I had some witty opinion on this news, but, I don’t. Well, I do, but it’s not witty, or even intelligent at all. I will now allow you to read my opinions on the two separate scheduling nuggets:
San Diego State: I’m not quite sure, to be honest, all I know is that they would have been the opponents in the next round for the Talor Battle led NCAA Tournament team if that kid from Temple wouldn’t have hit that damned buzzer beater in 2010 or 2011 (I’m not good with remembering years, because they say things like “2011-2012 season”; I mean, what season is it; 2011 or 2012?)
Virginia Tech: It’s like 10 years from now, ask me if I’m excited about it on a later date.
Remember, we are Penn State! (…or at least, we were Penn State, right Sports Illustrated?)
